Through the 1980s and 1990s, Falcon produced hundreds of thousands of inductors annually for UK and international clients. At one point, over two-thirds of UK manufacturers used Falcon inductors. The company continues to supply components through its website, making it a go-to for high-quality speaker building.
Originally a family business run by Malcolm and Valerie Jones, Falcon moved from Sussex to Mulbarton in 1976, and later to Acle in 2003. After Valerie’s passing in 2008 and Malcolm’s retirement in 2009, Falcon was passed to Jerry Bloomfield. Today, Falcon Acoustics is the UK’s largest supplier of drive units, and since 2014, has been manufacturing the acclaimed Falcon Acoustics Classic BBC LS3/5a, as well as expanding into the R.A.M. and Reference ranges.
